“We made a wish… and you came true.”

I think at some point in every mother’s life, the moment comes where they dream of the little girl they may have. What will she look like? Will she have my eyes, her daddy’s smile? Erica dreamed of her little girl for so long, and after two handsome boys, she had her rainbow baby girl. I’ve had the pleasure of watching her dream come true through Lanora Ronée Photography, from her maternity session to their newborn session… to her 8 month mama & me breastfeeding session, and so much more. It has been a true joy to see Erica’s family complete from bump to baby and beyond.

When Erica approached me to discuss the vision of her daughter’s first birthday shoot, I was ecstatic. It felt like we had gone full circle, and now that her babygirl is a year old? What better way than to celebrate with the shoot of her dreams. She envisioned a minimalistic yet timeless feel for her session, complete with matching outfits for her daughter and her doll… and came prepared with the most exquisite naked cake and a simple baby’s breath floral crown made by her daddy – the perfect touch for her session.

Of course, no first birthday session is complete without a cake smash. This was a last minute add-on for Erica, and we had no idea how her little one would react with the cake. When Erica asked about the possibility of doing a cake smash, I suggested grabbing a small naked cake as it matched both the stylization of the already planned session, as well as the simplicity of our studio. And it was better than we could have ever imagined.
